PAD develops most commonly as a result of atherosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries, which occurs when cholesterol and scar tissue build up, forming a substance called plague inside the arteries resulting in narrowing or complete blockage of the artery.

Utilization of these techniques and procedures comprise the major components of an Interventional Radiologists skill set.
In addition to EVLT for symptomatic Varicose Veins, Venous Dermatitis & Non healing Ulcers, Dr. Singireddy also provides Micro Phlebectomy, Ultrasound Guided Sclerotherapy and Cosmetic Sclerotherapy services.
Having done thousands of EVLT procedures with excellent outcome and high patient satisfaction, Dr. Singireddy is the most experienced Vein Specialist in the area
As an Interventional Radiologist who is BOARD CERTIFIED in Phlebology (the study of veins), I have seen a wide variety of other medical specialists attempt to join the field. Any licensed medical doctor is legally allowed to perform venous treatments; however, many of these doctors are not educated or experienced in the field. Essentially, there is nothing stopping any doctor, regardless of his or her training, from wielding a laser and potentially even burning or scarring their patients. I have also frequently seen treatment failures for spider and bulging veins (superficial veins) because the deeper leg veins were overlooked by inexperienced medical professionals.
Keep in mind that the Physician should be the one performing any invasive procedures! Under Florida law, ultrasound techs are allowed to assist the physician, but cannot perform the procedure. Look for someone willing to take the time to explain your condition and outline options.
Make sure you ask your Physician if he/she is going to perform the procedures prior to agreeing to undergo the treatment.

I was referred to Dr. Singireddy by my family physician for a vascular assessment of my left leg. I couldn't have been more pleased by my visits! The entire experience was exceptional from scheduling to diagnosis and treatment. The medical assistants and the office staff are very knowledgeable and friendly and took complete care of my questions and needs. Most importantly, Dr. Singirreddy is a true professional and resolved my vascular issues in a timely manner. I strongly recommend him!
I can't say enough about Dr. Singireddy and his staff. First of all, I felt so comfortable and at ease with Dr. Singireddy and his staff immediately . His explanations of all symptoms, procedures were very understandable. Leaving no questions in mind about details of procedures. I had 7 procedures . Laser, phlebectomy and foam sclerotheraphy. I felt no pain . You feel the numbing needle and that's about it. ( especially loved that I could watch my favorite show ( Prperty brothers) as my surgeries were performed.) No issues at all. Loved the fact that Dr Singireddy would take the time to call every night to check in on me. That was very comforting. I also had his cell number if there was any issues. Just had my 3 month ultrasound and all good. My symptoms have all disappeared . I feel like I have a new life after aches, restless leg and other symtoms are 100% gone. Have a tad of discolor on leg still but disappearing as the Dr. told me it would. Going back in fall to have my other leg taken care of, then cosmetic work. Will trust no one except Dr. Singireddy to do vein surgeries on my legs. He is an Amazing Vascular Dr.. It has been years since my leg has been healthy , pain free and shorts to worn soon. Gloria W. I had numerous procedures completed on both legs and am thrilled with my results after many years of problems. Every appointment was accompanied by a follow-up phone call that same evening by Dr. Singireddy to ensure my well being. My husband couldn't believe he called every time and remarked that Dr. Singireddy was very special!
Along with a devoted doctor you have a wonderfully talented, caring and concerned staff who made you feel a part of the Suncoast Vein family!

A vein is a blood vessel that carries blood low in oxygen content from the body to the lungs and heart. It is a normal part of the circulatory system.
Varicose veins are abnormally and irregularly swollen veins (the blood vessels that return blood to the heart from the body tissues).
The varicose veins run downwards from the thighs to ankles near the surface of the leg. Varicose veins develop slowly, but once they start they progress. They do not get better on their own.
Causes of Varicose Veins
Pregnancy is not the cause, but varicose veins can develop or worsen during pregnancy. This is due to increased pressure from the uterus on the pelvic and leg veins, increased blood volume and changing hormones.
Varicose veins on the surface of your legs are usually not associated with dangerous blood clots that can travel to your lungs and cause an obstruction (embolism).
Any clot that forms near the surface will generally be small. There may be inflammation, but the clot does not usually seriously threaten your health. However it is strongly recommended that you make an appointment with your doctor to make sure that there are no clots involving the deep veins.
Symptoms of Varicose Veins
Treatment for Varicose Veins
About 15 percent of all American adults eventually develop varicose veins.
Varicose veins are one of the most common problems of blood vessels
Spider veins are smaller, red, purple, and blue vessels that also twist and turn. Spider veins are easily visible through the skin, as well. They are typically visible on the legs and face.
The exact cause of Spider Veins is not proven, but heredity, local trauma, and hormonal levels are believed to be contributing factors.

Spider Veins become more numerous with age, and are twice as common in women.
Spider Veins are dilated small veins under the surface of the skin, mostly on the legs. They look like red or purple sunbursts or web patterns.
Spider Veins are also referred to as telangiectasia or broken capillaries. They usually pose no health hazard but may produce a dull aching or burning in the legs after prolonged standing.
Treatment of Spider Veins
Sclerotherapy is the best and safest treatment for Spider Veins. It causes minimal discomfort.
Sclerotherapy for Spider Veins generally requires multiple treatment sessions. Post-treatment therapy includes wearing compression bandages or support hose for three days to two weeks following the treatment. Although Sclerotherapy works for current Spider Veins, it does not prevent future ones from developing.
Causes of Spider Veins:
VEINWAVE Treatment for SPIDER VEINS
Veinwave™ is a revolutionary technique used by Doctors around the world to eliminate spider veins on the legs and fine thread veins, known as telangiectasia. Utilizing the principle of thermo coagulation, Veinwave is the only treatment of its kind to receive clearance by the FDA.
Veinwave Benefits:
EVLT is a relatively simple procedure. Dr Singireddy uses ultrasound to see the vein being treated. After giving local anesthetic (usually lidocaine) a small needle is used to get into the vein and a thin wire is advanced through this needle over which a catheter is advanced into the vein and positioned appropriately.
A thin lase
EVLT is a relatively simple procedure. Dr Singireddy uses ultrasound to see the vein being treated. After giving local anesthetic (usually lidocaine) a small needle is used to get into the vein and a thin wire is advanced through this needle over which a catheter is advanced into the vein and positioned appropriately.
A thin laser fiber is then inserted through the catheter. Following this local anesthesia is given surrounding the vein. The laser fiber is activated and slowly withdrawn to shut the vein close. Laser energy is delivered to seal the faulty vein, shrinking and closing the vein so that the blood cannot flow through it. This eliminates the feeding vein at its source. After treatment, blood flow is then diverted to the many normal veins in the leg.
Most patients will see relief of symptoms such as leg pain and leg heaviness in a few days and can regain the confidence to wear shorts and dresses soon afterwords. Patients are also encouraged to return to normal activities immediately.
After the Procedure
Following the procedure, dressing and compression stocking will be applied which should be kept for 48 hours (2days), following which the dressing is removed and patient may shower and wear the stocking back on again immediately for 5 additional days, day and night but may take the stocking off to shower each day. Patients can resume most of the normal activities the day after the procedure.
However patients are expected to avoid weightlifting more than 50 pounds. Running, jogging and active sports (like football, tennis, volley ball etc) should be avoided for 2 weeks. Walking is encouraged.
Application of ice packs along the course of the treated vein will help in reducing pain, swelling and bruising. Patients are advised to avoid sunbathing and hot tub bath as long as there is a bruise. Patients are seen for follow up at Suncoast Vein & Vascular Clinic 4 to 5 weeks after the laser procedure.
Facts about EVLT
The laser energy damages the vein walls, shrinking them and closing the faulty vein so that the blood cannot flow through it. This eliminates vein bulging at its source.
No. After treatment, the blood in the faulty veins will be diverted to the many normal veins in the leg.
The only minimal complications experienced with EVLT have been a small number of cases of numbness that passes quickly. Rare cases of deep vein thrombosis (one in several thousand treated patients)
No. Just as a precaution against accidental firing of laser energy outside the body, you will be given a pair of special glasses to protect your eyes.
Many insurance companies cover the treatment of vein disease that is associated with substantial pain and other complications, but individual insurance companies may limit the types of therapy that are covered.
