Sukhender R. Singireddy, M.D.

Dr. Singireddy is the first Board Certified Phlebologist (Vein Specialist), providing Laser Vein Treatment (EVLT) in the area since 2002 after being approved by FDA in 2001.

He was the former division head of Interventional Radiology at Florida Memorial Hospital, Ormond beach and Florida Hospital in Palm Coast.

Dr Singireddy did his Internship at Henry Ford Hospital in Michigan(1993-1994), 4yrs of Radiology residency at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey(1995-1999).

He is fellowship trained in Vascular & Interventional Radiology at Henry Ford Hospital in Michigan(1999-2000).

He also did his fellowship in Nuclear Medicine at University of Alabama in Birmingham, Alabama(1994-1995).

Dr Singireddy's Advice

As an Interventional Radiologist who is BOARD CERTIFIED in Phlebology (the study of veins), I have seen a wide variety of other medical specialists attempt to join the field. Any licensed medical doctor is legally allowed to perform venous treatments; however, many of these doctors are not educated or experienced in the field. Essentially, there is nothing stopping any doctor, regardless of his or her training, from wielding a laser and potentially even burning or scarring their patients. I have also frequently seen treatment failures for spider and bulging veins (superficial veins) because the deeper leg veins were overlooked by inexperienced medical professionals.

Keep in mind that the Physician should be the one performing any invasive procedures! Under Florida law, ultrasound techs are allowed to assist the physician, but cannot perform the procedure. Look for someone willing to take the time to explain your condition and outline options.

Make sure you ask your Physician if he/she is going to perform the procedures prior to agreeing to undergo the treatment.
